Prep Cooks

We are looking for hard working, dedicated, organized Prep Cooks to join our kitchen team at the Buffalo Bar & 10 Steakhouse. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes.

A great prep cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven experience as prep cook
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Very good physical condition and endurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset

Banquet Server

We are looking for energetic individuals to join our Banquet team! Must be able to stay on their feet for long periods of time, willing to work shifting hours, evenings and weekends. Should be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs. The successful applicant can work in a team setting, will be able to provide excellent service and can create great rapport with guests. Considered a plus, if you have your Serving It Safe Certification. This is a seasonal position-casual, part-time. Training will be provided.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Setting up table place settings prior to event
  • Greet guests
  • Coordinate with the kitchen in case of any special dietary needs
  • Deliver food in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Ensure guest satisfaction with food and beverage
  • Keep banquet area clean

Line Cook

We are seeking a passionate, hardworking individual to fill the position of Line Cook. Responsibilities will include station set up where he or she will be responsible for preparing their station before the start of each service. Cooks must make sure that all supplies needed are available and ready for use. During meal service he or she will be responsible for preparing items requested from his or her station in a timely fashion and working in cooperation with other cooks in the kitchen. After service, they will be in charge of cleaning their station, cooking surfaces, etc.

The successful individual will be capable of working in a high pressure, fast paced environment, has organizational skills and can work well with others. He or she must have kitchen experience in busy hotels, fine dining or busy chain restaurants. A Food Safety Certificate is required.

Spa Coordinator

An opening for the position of Spa Coordinator is available at the Solstice Spa. We are looking for an energetic, friendly, and active individual who can multi-task, work in a team environment as well as independently. This is a full-time or part-time position. Working evenings and weekends is a must. Experience in retail and customer service will be taken into consideration, but is not required.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Keeping up to date with offered treatments
  • Answering phones
  • Processing spa bookings
  • Making sure that gift shop area and guest areas are in good order and tidy

Wage is negotiable, gratuity and bonuses available. Training and a uniform will be provided.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greets guests and presents them with the menus
  • Informs guests of any food or drink specials available for the day and any menu changes
  • Take food and beverage orders, and make recommendations as needed
  • Coordinate with the kitchen in case of any special dietary needs
  • Deliver food in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Ensure guest satisfaction with food and beverage orders
  • Process guest payments
  • Keep dining area clean, making sure tables are reset after each guest leaves
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Tally receipts and payments at the end of the day making sure that all is correct and accounted for
