Collage Painting with Paper Napkins
February 23 (10am - 4pm)
Learn how to create landscapes using paper napkins, specialty papers and medium during this whole day craft class. Each participant will receive a pre-sketched landscape on a wooden panel. With step by step instruction, you will learn how to create depth using colour intensity and value while you develop your landscape masterpieces. Each piece will be as individual as the participant. Finished pieces are 8” X 8”.
Laurie Dufresne attended her first painting class, which was in the style of folk art painting in acrylics on wood over 25 years ago. Laurie quickly grasped on to the style and started developing her own instructional packets as well as having project pieces published in several international magazines. Laurie opened her own studio and began teaching in her home town of Kenora. She also enjoyed teaching in other studios as a guest teacher and teaching at several folk art painting conventions across the country.
Wanting to develop her own style and explore her creativity, she began travelling to study other styles of art in other mediums including watercolour, collage, sculpture, and multimedia. Over the years, she has enjoyed studying with several artist/instructors, and has extrapolated bits and pieces of their styles into creating her own uniqueness. Though she enjoys painting landscapes and wildlife, her favourite is portraiture.
